The story of Four Swords Adventures, sequel to Four Swords, begins when an evil duplicate of Link captures the maidens who protect the shrine of the Four Sword. This duplicate, named Shadow Link, tricks Link into releasing the seal on Vaati, and evil begins plaguing Hyrule. Using the Four Sword once more, Link must destroy Vaati and the source of the magic that created Shadow Link.
